Joshuah Bearman
Joshuah Bearman is a former staff writer and editor for the LA Weekly. He writes for Rolling Stone, Harper's, Wired, The New York Times Magazine, The Believer, McSweeney's, The Huffington Post and contributes to This American Life. Bearman was a contributing producer on the documentary, The King of Kong. He was one half of Team USA in Walleyball, a short film by Brent Hoff about a pick up game of volleyball at the US-Mexico Border. He was the editor-in-chief of Yeti Researcher, a journal in the field of cryptic hominid investigation, published by McSweeney's. Bearman is a board member of 826LA, a non-profit tutoring center in Los Angeles. He lives in Hollywood, California, and is currently working on a book for Farrar, Straus, and Giroux.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
Several of Bearman's articles have been optioned for film and television adaptation. His 2007 Wired article about a CIA mission during the Iran Hostage Crisis was adapted into the film Argo, with George Clooney producing and Ben Affleck directing and starring. The film is currently in production.[8]
